Nicky Potter was born in South Africa. She trained as an Occupational Therapist in Toronto with her thesis focused on the therapeutic value of play as the meaningful work of children. She operated a home health company in New Orleans, USA for 10 years with a focus on Medicare and Medicaid patients, while practicing OT.
After returning to Canada, Nicky operated a national medical skincare company for 10 years. She co-owns and operates a restaurant bar that features live music. She founded Friends of Noah Canada in 2006, after being involved previously with Noah South Africa, founded in response to children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Friends of Noah Canada has since become Childhood Now, and Nicky continues to volunteer with the organization as founder and ED as we continue our work with vulnerable children in Canada while continuing our work in Southern Africa.
